QDuring what kind of disaster can the service be used?: AWhen there is an earthquake of lower-6 intensity or higher (Japanese scale) and etc, it will be possible to use the service approximately 30 minutes after news of the earthquake is known.
When there is an earthquake of upper-5 intensity or less, or other disasters occur, the condition of telephone communication traffic will be taken into account and a decision will be made by either NTT East or NTT West (whichever is in charge of the disaster-stricken area) on whether or not to provide the service.
Once Disaster Emergency Message Dial is in operation, announcements will be made over television, radio and the NTT East Website.
