Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) have responded to the desire of customers for more economical services by announcing a further reduction in rates for the always-on, fixed-rate Internet connection service FLET'S ADSL* effective Monday, October 1, 2001, and have today issued notification to the Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications concerning the change.
A similar rate reduction is to be implemented for FLET'SISDN at the same time, and will be notified to the Minister as soon as preparations have been completed. |

In addition to the above charges, the monthly use charges for ADSL Connection Service are being lowered to 2,400 yen (Type 1 service, shared with telephone line; currently 3,000 yen) and 4,050 yen (Type 2 service, separate line; currently 4,650 yen).
The special rate plan for schools remains unchanged at this time.

This charge is in addition to the basic monthly connection charge for analog service. Use of the line for analog telephone services is subject to the usual dialup charges. |
