Collect Calls

By placing a collect call, dialing charges for the domestic call are billed to the called party. There are two ways to make a collect call.

Procedures	1Dial 106, and tell the operator your name and the telephone number of the party you wish to call starting with the area code. 2Your call will be put through if the called party accepts.	1Dial 108, and conduct operations according to the prompt such as entering the telephone number of the party you wish to call. 2Your call will be put through if the called party accepts.
Charges	A handling fee of ¥94.5 and dialing charges at Time and Charges (100) call rates will be billed for each call.	A connection charge of ¥94.5 and regular dialing charges will be billed for each call.^* However, the following charges apply for local calls (within the same area). Daytime and Evening (8a.m. - 11p.m.): ¥10.5 every 3min. Late Night(11p.m. - 8a.m.): ¥10.5 every 4min.

*When calling from a public phone, the call will be charged at public phone dialing rates (tax not included).

Inter-prefecture calls are made via NTT Communications lines, so NTT Communications charges (handling fees [connection charges], dialing charges) will apply.
Some calls and services, such as calls to numbers starting with 0120, are not available.
This service cannot be used to place collect calls to Hikari Denwa phones.
When calling from a public phone, the coins you insert will be returned after you replace the receiver (coins/telephone cards are not necessary for placing collect calls from digital public phones).
Calls may not go through to other telecommunications carriers.
Dial 108 from a telephone on a touch-tone line or a pulse(rotarydial) line that can send a touch-tone signal.
