Basic Monthly Charge

Your basic monthly charge depends on your contract and type of use. Please see the diagram below.

Optional service charges apply for services such as Caller ID Display and Call Waiting.
Internal wiring usage charges and terminal equipment usage charges apply for subscribers who rent these items from NTT East. The only telephone sets that can be rented are black rotary-dial phones, push-button phones, and private pay phones (Pink Denwa).

Line Service Charge

The line service charge depends on the type of use (business/residential and rotary-dial line/touch-tone line) and the service area where your telephone is installed.

Subscribers are also required to pay universal service charges of ¥3.15/month for each telephone number (as of July 2012). Universal service charges enable the provision of universal services (analog telephone, public telephone, and emergency telephone services) throughout Japan. The charges are the same amount as the per-number fee (cost per number) set by the universal service support organization, and they will be revised in accordance with changes in that cost per number made by the universal service support organization.
Telephones using touch-tone lines are easier to operate, connect faster than telephones using rotary-dial lines, and can be used with a variety of services.
Charges for former Class 1 Service Areas or former Class 2 Service Areas are not shown in the table above.

Basic Contract Period

Analog Lite Plan has a basic contract period (one month). Even if you use Analog Lite Plan for less than a month, you will be charged for a full month's line service charges on your telephone bill.

Dialing Charge

Dialing charges are determined by distance, call duration, time, and day of the week.

Discount Rates

Dialing charges are discounted at certain times of the day and on certain days of the week.

Evening Discount Rates	Approximately 20-25% discount for calls made between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to areas over 20 km away.
Late Night Discount Rates	Approximately 25-50% discount for calls made between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. regardless of distance.

Weekend and Holiday Discount Rates	Calls made on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays to areas over 20 km away are discounted (including calls made on January 2 and 3). The rates for weekend and holiday Daytime calls are the same as those for weekday Evening calls.
