Business Ether WIDE utilizes Ethernet OAM technology (for checking communication with monitoring frames) to constantly monitor each line. In the event that there is a malfunction, the maintenance center quickly sends a notification of the malfunction, resulting in reliability that is so much higher than ordinary Ethernet services.
Business Ether WIDE is a closed network equivalent to a dedicated service. Virtual LAN technologies are employed to provide ample security for each customer, so there is no need to worry about unauthorized access.
The network between trunk lines is designed with redundancy as standard, and additional redundancy options are also available between access sections (Dual Access). In the event of malfunctions, the network will automatically switch to the backup line. This allows business networks that require extremely high levels of reliability to be developed.
In order to reduce costs for the customer when implementing Dual Access, the "Dual Access Selector Type" is available in a single optical network unit (ONU) to provide redundancy between access sections in addition to "Dual Access Normal Type," which requires two optical network units (ONU).
NTT EAST's SLA is one of the highest levels available in the industry. A high level SLA is available in three areas: "failure recovery time," "delay time" and "uptime."
A new failure recovery time SLA of less than 10 minutes has been set for the Dual Access category with Business Ether WIDE. This delivers a much higher service quality than ordinary Business Ether.
